Reflexology is a deeply relaxing, calming and wonderful way to boost physical and emotional wellbeing.
I work from a tranquil treatment room, giving you the special ‘time out’ that you need. I am also a mobile therapist on request for those that are unable to travel.
Whether you are looking for support with an existing heath condition, want to reduce your day-to-day stress levels or would just like a little “me” time, my aim is to get you feeling happier, healthier and energised with specially-tailored Reflexology treatments. I am additionally trained in :
I work with my intuitive skills to seek out imbalances in the body, aiming to bring the mind, body and spirit back into balance.
BALANCE
Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body’s healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.
RELAXATION
Reflexology can induce a deep state of relaxation, which improves the effectiveness of the treatment. Relaxing helps relieve tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins.
HEALTH
While it is not a cure, Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones that we might have come to accept over time as being a normal part of life.
Reflexology is a natural therapy founded on the belief that your feet and hands are a reflection of the systems in your body – where specific areas correspond to organs, glands and structure. By applying gentle pressure to areas of the feet or hands a Reflexologist can help the body restore its own healthy balance.
Reflexology aims to treat the individual as a whole, creating a state of harmony in both body and mind. It has the benefit of also being a deeply relaxing therapy, and during periods of relaxation the body takes the opportunity to heal, restore and energise itself.
Reflexology is suitable for all ages, from baby to adult, and can be especially helpful for long-term and recurring conditions. Reflexology is complimentary to medical treatment and should not be regarded as a substitute for medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment.
Whilst the art of reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, this therapy was not introduced to the West until Dr William Fitzgerald developed ‘Zone therapy’ in the early 1900s. He believed that reflex areas on the feet and hands were linked to other areas and organs of the body within the same zone. In the 1930’s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone therapy into what is known as reflexology. Her opinion was that congestion or tension in any part of the foot is mirrored in the corresponding part of the body.
From the early stages of morning sickness to delivery discomfort, pregnancy can be physically demanding. Reflexology is a gentle, holistic treatment, which is ideal to help maintain balance and harmony during the changes of pregnancy. It is my opinion that many of the minor ailments of pregnancy are thought to respond well to reflexology therapy, such as:
Menopause brings emotional changes as well as physical ones. Many women find themselves feeling low, irritable or anxious. Menopause is a time of transition into a new stage of life. Changes in the body are often accompanied by lifestyle changes, such as children leaving home, or changes to relationships. It can feel like a time of struggle and confusion.
Hot flushes, night sweats, sleep problems, mood swings, weight gain, reduced sex drive …. The symptoms of menopause and perimenopause go on and on!
Reflexology has been found to be very effective in helping both the physical and emotional symptoms of the menopause.
The Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage technique focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet, helping to reduce swelling and to encourage the lymphatic system to circulate, thereby removing waste and toxins from bodily tissues. RLD was primarily developed to reduce secondary lymphoedema, a swelling in the arm following treatment from breast cancer. Research is now showing that RLD may also help other conditions including :

Birth has the potential to be one of the most wonderful experiences of a mother’s life. Childbirth is a natural physiological process that a woman’s body is fully equipped for. Each birth is unique, and hypnobirthing is about empowering mothers to feel more confident during and after the birth, and not to fear it.
Preparation is aimed at physical, mental and spiritual levels and the benefits for most women who are not in a high risk situation are many, such as:
Hypnobirthing helps you connect with your body and learn about the process of giving birth.
It gives you the tools to enable you to go through all the areas of labour and approach these in a calm and controlled manner.
